Who we are
Palseer is a screen-time app and this website, palseer.com. You can about anything in this policy.
What data we collect
On this website. If you join the waitlist, we store your email address and the date you signed up. We also run Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool, to see which pages people read. It collects page views, referrer URLs, browsers, operating systems, device types and country of origin. It does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses and does not track you across other websites.
In the Palseer app. The app reads your device's screen-time usage data: how long you spend on your phone and in the app categories you choose to track. It also stores the handle you pick and the list of people in your circle. The app does not read your messages, browsing history, contacts, location, or the content of anything you do on your phone. It only measures time.
Why we collect it
We use your email only to tell you when Palseer ships, or for major updates.
We use screen-time data for one purpose: showing your daily total to the people you chose. That is the product. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or anything else.
We use analytics in aggregate to understand which pages people read.
How we store and share it
Your email is stored in Cloudflare KV. Analytics data is stored on a server in Germany (EEA).
Your screen-time totals are visible only to the people in your circle, and you can see theirs. Nobody outside your circle can see your numbers. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and there are no third-party ad or tracking SDKs in the app.
How long we keep it
Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Screen-time data and your circle are kept while your account exists. If you delete your account, your data is deleted with it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Leave the waitlist at any time on the unsubscribe page
- Access your data, and we will confirm what we have
- Delete your data, leaving the waitlist removes your email and deleting your account removes your app data
- Complain to the ICO if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data
Legal basis
We process your email and your screen-time data based on your consent: you give it when you join the waitlist or set up the app and choose your circle. You can withdraw it at any time by leaving the waitlist or deleting your account.
For analytics, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding which pages people read. The analytics do not use cookies or process personal data, so no consent is required.
Changes
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will note it at the top. The current version was last updated on 2 July 2026.
